    Jersey men's football manager Martin Cassidy said his side needed to be better in front of goal to qualify for the semi-finals.

    His side beat Orkney 3-0 this afternoon, but rivals Menorca put six past Alderney to qualify by a single goal on goal difference.

    However, Cassidy felt hard done by after his side remained unbeaten in the tournament.

    Jersey's Gemma Atherley has won her second medal at the Gotland games, winning a silver in the 100m Backstroke.

    Her time of 1:03.07 put her narrowly ahead the Western Isles' Kathryn Offer.

    Atherley already has a gold to her name, triumphing in the 200m Freestyle.

    Sark's impressive Island Games record was mentioned in the Scottish Parliament last week.

    The island is one of the most successful competitors per capita, with 21 medals so far, one for every 30 people living on the island.

    SNP politician Maree Todd raised it in Holyrood during a debate to provide financial support to athletes in Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.

    Two hundredth of a second - that was the difference between a forth placed finish and a medal for Guernsey's Kylie Robilliard in the 100m hurdles.

    The former Aland gold winner in 2009 ran a 15.54, fractionally behind the Isle of Man's Hannah Riley (15:52).

    Menorca claimed a 6-0 win over Alderney, with a last gasp sixth, to go through to the semi-finals by a single goal on goal difference.

    He was beaten by Saaremaa's Rauno Liitmäe, who ran 15:63.

    Finals in a number of events are under way at the pool tonight and the first medal for Guernsey has gone to Orla Rabey, who's got a bronze in the 800m Freestyle.

    Her 9:16:41 effort put her just ahead of Jersey's Elissa Polak, who was some seven seconds off a medal.

    A BBC study has revealed Jersey Airport is in the top five for the most flight delays in the British Isles.

    The report found that from the British Isles one in five flights to popular holiday destinations were delayed by more than 30 minutes last summer.

    That amounts to 38,000 flights.

    Most were from London airports - Luton, Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow, but Jersey came in at fourth on the list.

    The BBC analysed Civil Aviation Authority data from 25 airports. The data did not cover flights that were cancelled.

    The father of Clinton Pringle, the three-year-old boy who died after being knocked over by a van in Tunnel Street, St Helier, a year ago today, says walking in his last footsteps was "very difficult".

    Michael Pringle said he had never been to Jersey until shortly after the death of his son. He said the first thing he did when coming to Jersey was to follow his last movements.

    He was in Jersey to mark the first anniversary of the accident. Mr Pringle said every time he comes back he goes back to the street and the passageway where Clinton was hit by the van.

    Michael Pringle, the father of the three-year-old boy who died after being knocked over by a van in St Helier a year ago today says it has been "an emotional and difficult year" for the family.

    He was in Jersey to mark the anniversary of Clinton Pringle's death. They released green balloons and left toys and flowers at the location of the crash.
