    In Jersey a 16-year-old has been assaulted by four "juvenile males", police have said.

    It happened near the large car park in St Brelade's Bay between 20:00 - 20:30 on 21 June, officers said.

    Police told the BBC the victim ran away from the group, seeking safety in Pizza Express.

    They added that a female driving her car is believed to have spoken with the group, and broken up the fight. Police are appealing for her to come forward.

    At the Island Games Jersey and Guernsey's women cyclists missed out on the individual medals at the mountain bike cross country.

    Jersey's Lisa Mansell was the best placed Channel Islander in 6th spot, with Megan Dowinton one behind.

    The MacPhee sisters from the Western Isles dominated the race from the start, with Kerry taking gold and Kirsty the silver.

    The Jersey gymnastics team are celebrating after a successful day yesterday winning a silver medal.

    Today is a rest day for them, although they say they will be in their hotel room writing notes on their routines for tomorrow.

    Two Jersey athletes have arrived in Gotland late because they had to finish their A-level exams.

    Sam Maher and Yasmin Lookess, both 18, had a biology exam on Monday so couldn't travel with the rest of the team.

    Hautlieu pupil Sam will compete in the 1500m tomorrow, while Yasmin, a Beaulieu school pupil, will run in the 800m, and 4x400m relay.

    The pair had to fly from Jersey, to Gatwick and then on to Stockholm before arriving in Gotland this afternoon.

    Guernsey's Rebecca Margetts and Nikki Trebert have added to yesterday's second place finish with another silver medal, this time in the 25m standard pistol., external

    Again, they were behind the Isle of White duo of Imogen and Shelly Moss - this time trailing by 20 points.

    Yesterday they got silver in the sport pistol over the same distance.

    It's the fourth shooting medal so far for Guernsey at the games.

    What a stunning backdrop for the mountain bike cross country here in Gotland.

    The track is sandwiched between the historic town wall and the coast, with the finish line in the opening ceremony arena.

    There's plenty of Channel Islands interest in this women's race with the likes of Guernsey's Megan Dowinton and Jersey's Helene Monpetit set to compete.

    Jersey's Alex Buesnel, who made history by becoming the first disabled gymnast to compete at the Island Games for Jersey, slept with his medal under his pillow last night.

    He is a member of the silver winning gymnastics team.

    He said: "I had some sweet dreams about winning that medal last night."

    The Island Games in Gotland will see another Channel Islands clash this afternoon.

    Jersey face Guernsey in a match that will settle who finishes top of Group B, and ultimately who gets an easier quarter final tie.

    Both Guernsey and Jersey have already beaten the other side in their group, Froya.

    Tip off is at 12:30 BST.
