  12. Les Quennevais school a 'safety hazard' says deputypublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 28 June 2017

    Rob England
    BBC News Online

A deputy has berated Jersey's Council of Ministers for prioritising projects such as the building of a new finance centre in St Helier, whilst neglecting to build new facilities for Le Quennevais school in St Brelade.

The school will be closed on Thursday and Friday after tiles fell down from the roof into the school's hall, and water leaked through, damaging electrics.

St Brelade Deputy Montfort Tadier said the "sub optimal" building was now a "health hazard" to pupils and staff.

    Quote Message

Why is it we can build a finance centre, office blocks, on premium land in Jersey that nobody wants? But, when it comes to building a school - in my constituency - that is already 20 years overdue: 'No, I am afraid we cannot do that in a timely fashion'.

    Guernsey archers' decorative nails

Check out these awesome decorative nails being sported by Guernsey's archers this week.

Day Four of the archery events here in Gotland have come to a close within the last hour, and Guernsey's women competitors have had a mixed day at Ravhagen.

Lisa and Zoe Gray (silver) and Chantelle Goubert (bronze) added to their own medal tallies, while the likes of Gen Witham, Laura Le Page and Alderney's Jennifer Tatton missed out on a top three finish.

On the bus back to Visby, Gen told me that all of the girls have a various mix of nails - painted by their very own Zoe - with a spread of Guernsey flags and colours from their bows.
