    There were no individual medals for cyclists from the Channel Islands in the women's road race.

    Guernsey's Joanna Watts came fifth, and Jersey's Clare Treharne came eighth.

    Tara Ferguson from the Isle of Man won.

    The top 25 cyclists all crossed the finish line within seven seconds.

    Guernsey's women's volleyball team ended the group stage with a 3-2 win over hosts Gotland at the Island Games.

    Guernsey won the decider 15-8.

    We caught up with Jennifer Lindfield, who is a player in the team, as well as a coach and vice captain.

    Gotland battled back from 2-0 behind to 2-2, but Guernsey swung the last set in their favour.

    Guernsey vs Froya men's basketball in action

    Guernsey's basketball coach Adam Farish has said he expects Gibraltar and the Cayman Islands to join Guernsey and Saaremaa in the semi finals.

    His side beat Froya 84-45 this morning to book a place in the semis.

    Jersey face the Cayman Islands at 17:00, while Gibraltar play Menorca at 14:45.

    The other side already in the semis are Saaremaa, who beat the Isle of White 89-52 earlier.

    Jersey's shooting team of Bruce Horwood and Deborah Thompson have won a bronze medal at the range in Wisborgs Slätt.

    This brings Jersey's bronze total to 14.

    A spokeswoman for Jersey's Department for Education said they would need to close the school on Thursday and Friday this week for "urgent repairs" after heavy rain damaged the hall roof.

    The school will remain open as normal today.

    Rain overnight caused "significant water damage" to part of the school's roof, the spokeswoman said, and large areas would be "out of use".

    She added: "In order to ensure the students remain safe and the repairs can be carried out quickly, it is necessary to close the school."

    Guernsey's men are through to the basketball semi-finals, after a decisive 84-45 victory over Froya in today's quarter-final.

    The greens had already played the team in the group stages - winning with a much smaller margin, 62-51.

    Saaremaa are already through to the semi-finals, with the rest of the quarter-final games to be played later today.

    Guernsey's head coach Adam Farish said he was confident the team can win a medal, and was determined not the repeat their fourth place finish in the last games.

    St Helier lifeboat coxswain Andy Hibbs says has been reinstated by the RNLI.

    It comes months after he was sacked for breaking the charity code of conduct.

    The RNLI originally said he was asked to stand down due to "serious breaches of the RNLI volunteer code of conduct".

    Mr Hibbs denied the charge and all 25 members of his crew resigned in protest. They will return with Mr Hibbs.

    A coxswain sacked by the RNLI has confirmed he has been reinstated.

    Andy Hibbs was sacked by the charity two months ago, but has been reinstated as the RNLI St Helier lifeboat coxswain again.

    The entire St Helier lifeboat crew walked out in protest of his sacking earlier in the year, and a relief crew from the UK has been covering since.

    It's not clear whether the crew will return following his reinstatement.

    Fresh Fish Company, who has been leading the campaign to get him resinstated said on Facebook: "Great news!!!! We got our Andy back!!!"

    One of the largest builders merchants in the Channel Islands has suffered a cyber-attack.

    Normans has confirmed it has been hit by an attack but wouldn't confirm whether it was the latest attack that has hit companies across the world.

    A spokesman for Normans says it hasn't affected customer data, just their systems and has forced them to work "the old fashioned way".

    He says they have been around since the 1840s and have "plenty of experience selling with pen and paper".

    Pupils at Jersey's Les Quennevais School could be sent home because water is leaking through the roof.

    Heavy rainfall has caused damage to several areas at the school, which officials are currently inspecting.

    An Education spokesman said if there was a risk to students and teachers, the school would have to close.

    Guernsey clinched five golds on day three of the Island Games, including two in swimming, as they overtook Jersey in the medal table.

    Tom Hollingsworth took his third title, the 100m butterfly, with the Sarnians also winning the 4x50m freestyle relay.

    They also won top honours in the team table tennis, beating Greenland 4-3 in a nail-biting final.

    Guernsey also triumphed in mountain biking and archery events as Jersey did not add to their tally of 14 golds.

    Lisa Gray, who won two titles on Monday, teamed up with Jason Le Page to take the mixed recurve archery gold, while James Roe's biking victory came in the cross country discipline by one second.

    The Sarnians' table tennis triumph went down to a decider, Josh Stacey holding his nerve to win with help from team-mates Garry Dodd, Dawn Morgan and Samantha Kershaw.
