    Guernsey vs Isle of Man

Guernsey men's footballers will miss the chance to defend their gold medal after their loss to the Isle of Man this afternoon.

It finished 4-3 in their semi final after a late winner sent the Isle of Man through and Guernsey into the bronze medal playoff.

It was a cruel end to a game that ebbed and flowed in Gotland.

Guernsey took the lead through a neat Matt Loaring prod before the Isle of Man scored twice in first half injury time.

Guernsey levelled through Loaring, went behind, and levelled again courtesy of a Jacob Fallaize header. But with the clock showing 92 minutes, the Manxmen somehow forced the ball over the line from a scrap in the penalty area - a moment that manager Steve Sharman told me he couldn't watch. That goal denied Guernsey a place in tomorrow's final.

Instead Sharman's young side in green and white face Menorca in the bronze medal playoff.

  7. Shooting: Bronze for Normanpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

Jersey's Mary Norman has won bronze in the 25m Standard Pistol, coming behind the Isle of White's Shelley Moss and gold-winning Guernsey shooter Nikki Trebert.

Norman scored 508, to give her a comfortable 15-point cushion over fourth-placed Imogen Moss.

  8. Shooting: First Gotland gold for Trebertpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

Guernsey's Nikki Trebert has a gold medal to add to her three Gotland silvers.

She triumphed in the 25m Standard Pistol this morning, four points ahead of Isle of White adversary Shelley Moss, who now has three competition golds and three silvers to her name.

Yesterday it was searching for wayward golf balls, today it's sweeping the tennis court.

Guernsey's Bailiff may have a knighthood, but he's clearly happy to roll his sleeves up and help out.

Sir Richard Collas is missing a scintillating States debate today. Deputies are into the third day of working their way through more than 30 changes to a government plan for the future of the island.

While in Gotland, the responsibility for moderating the States debate falls to Deputy Bailiff Richard McMahon.

  20. Not so beach-like weather for volleyball tiepublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 29 June 2017

    Naomi Dunning
    BBC Radio Jersey, Reporter

Jersey's beach volleyball players in action

Jersey's men's beach volleyball team has started their match against Menorca for a bronze medal.

Berislav Bobus and Rueben Viera failed to make the final this morning after they lost to home side Gotland

The conditions for this bronze medal match are pretty appalling.

The wind is strong and dark clouds are gathering which means rain could play its part.

The crowd is also thin on the ground due to the wind, and this game won't have the atmosphere of some of the other games on this court.

Bobus and Viera have had several hours since their semi-final match to recover and should be on good form for this game.

But both sides will have to dig deep to perform well in these weather conditions.
