In pictures: Gallipoli centenary ceremonies

The centenary of one of World War One's bloodiest campaigns, Gallipoli, is being marked with a service on the Turkish peninsula which gave the campaign its name. There are also events taking place in Australia and New Zealand, which lost thousands of troops.

Prince Harry was among the dignitaries who met sailors and relatives of those who fought in the campaign

Turkish troops are also taking part in the commemoration. Ottoman forces lost 86,000 men in the campaign

Prince Charles and Turkish President Erdogan both laid wreaths and gave speeches at the service at the Abide memorial

Another ceremony is being held at the Helles Memorial, where this picture of an Australian soldier has been displayed

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott is expected to speak at the service

In the New Zealand capital Wellington, soldiers took part in a street parade ahead of 25 April, which is marked as Anzac Day
