Police said Thomas Kirwan was a "hard working young man"

An 18-year-old Coventry woman arrested on suspicion of murdering a man outside a Wolverhampton nightclub has been released on bail.

Thomas Kirwan, aged 23, a Shropshire factory worker, was fatally stabbed outside the Uberra Club on 8 July.

The woman, who was arrested on 27 July, was bailed pending further inquiries, West Midlands Police said.

Three 18-year-old men and one man aged 19, who were arrested on 18 July over the murder, remain on police bail.

Det Insp Warren Hines, who is leading the inquiry, said: "Tom was a hard working young man who had his life ahead of him.

"We have a team of dedicated officers who are determined to get to the bottom of how he died."

He said officers were continuing to investigate his movements in the time leading up to his death.

"We have spoken to a number of people who were in the nightclub but there are many who have yet to come forward," he said.

"I would appeal to those people to do the right thing and speak to my officers so they can decide how significant the information those people have may be."
