A Shropshire ice rink which shut in May is to reopen after a £4m revamp.

The Telford Tigers ice hockey team is to use the town's revamped rink on Sunday evening in the English Premier League game with Peterborough Phantoms.

Public skating at Telford Ice Rink, which first opened in 1985, will resume from 10:30 BST on Monday.

Since June people have used a temporary synthetic skating facility in the town's Southwater Square while work to extend the rink site was taking place.

A cafe at the Telford & Wrekin Council-owned facility will be available later in the week and a children's play area at the site will open at the end of November.
