James Maughan charged over Branton car crash fire deaths

A man accused of causing the death of two people by dangerous driving after a car crashed in Doncaster and burst into flames, has appeared in court.

Liam Aldred, 26, and Dean McIntyre, 27, died in the crash in Poppyfields Way, Branton, on 25 August.

James Maughan, 21, of Marshland Road, Doncaster, is charged with two counts of causing death and two of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He will appear in custody at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday.

He appeared at Doncaster Magistrates' Court where he was also charged with failing to stop after a collision, failing to report an accident and a public order offence.

Both of the men who died were from Doncaster.
