NHS Confederation on Stafford Hospital report

The NHS Confederation chief executive said he was "ashamed frankly of what happened in Staffordshire".

Mike Farrar, who leads the body which represents hospitals and other organisations that provide NHS care, was also asked about an alleged secret list of sites where NHS staff would not wish to be treated.

The prime minister apologised to the families of patients at the hospital and a new post of chief inspector of hospitals would be created in the autumn.
