The 1st Battalion Welsh Guards form a Guard of Honour in the square in front of St Paul's. The steps of the Cathedral are lined by Chelsea Pensioners and eighteen service personnel from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, the Blues and Royals, Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, and Royal Air Force. On the far side of the square the Welsh Guards Band stand to attention.
