Construction work on the world's largest pair of equine sculptures has been completed. Angela Finlay, who works for Scottish Canals, took this picture of them.

The Kelpies, costing £5m, have been installed near Falkirk. Alan Styles, who worked on the project, captured this view from 41m (135ft) in the air on a cherry picker.

The 30m (100ft) structures are part of the £43m Helix redevelopment project between Falkirk and Grangemouth in central Scotland.

An official topping-out ceremony is being held on Wednesday 27 November. This picture was taken by Ben Williams, who works with The Helix team in Falkirk.

The Kelpies' heads were galvanised before their installation. The art work was created by sculptor Andy Scott.

The Helix project was funded by The Big Lottery Fund, Falkirk Council and Scottish Canals.

The Kelpies are one of the UK's tallest pieces of public art. The Clydesdale horses they are modelled on are to attend the official completion ceremony.

The Kelpies will be visible from the M9 motorway, as well as the nearby canal, and could be seen by millions of people each year.
