Watch: 'Can I vote for myself?'

Ahead of the 2024 General Election, BBC London asked people who they’d want to be in charge of the country but some of the answers were unexpected.

Instead of naming the actual contenders, people like actor Tom Hardy and broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson were suggested by voters.

On the bustling high streets of Dalston, Erith, Woolwich and Hackney, some also put themselves forward.

They said creating more youth clubs, improving housing and mental health would be on their list of priorities if they had the chance to be PM.
