'I've got to hit the ground running' - Labour MP

The new Labour MP for Ipswich said he would hit the ground running after winning the seat from the Conservatives.

Jack Abbott insisted he would work to bring the town together and build a "new future".

"I've got to hit the ground running. I'm going to get people, businesses, organisations and different councils round the table to make sure we're moving forward," he said.

Mr Hunt, who won the seat in 2019, described the election as an "incredibly difficult result" for the Conservative Party.
