Drone footage shows completed bridge near A1
Drone footage shows a completed road bridge that is part of the project to realign and extend the A428 across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
The new dual carriageway will run from just west of the Black Cat roundabout on the A1, near Bedford, to the Caxton Gibbet roundabout between St Neots and Cambridge.
The overall scheme was estimated to cost about £950m.
The Roxton Road bridge takes vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders over the A421, external between Roxton and Chawston, between Bedford and the A1.
Lee Galloway, National Highways' project director, said: "The opening of the new bridge is an exciting milestone for the scheme, external. This bridge marks a big step forward, bringing us closer to making travel easier, more reliable and safer."
The bridge is now open to traffic, with the the remaining section of the Roxton Road link expected to open in late May.
