Beyonce image causes airbrushing row

Should images of people be changed to make them look different?

A picture of Beyonce by fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has caused a stir, after it made the singer look thinner.

Lots of people in the fashion industry use airbrushing to change the way models look.

But some experts are worried that the images can make people feel bad about their appearance.

A recent government study found that more than half the UK public had a negative body image, with girls as young as five worried about how they looked.

Leanne Turndyke from Beat, an eating disorder charity, told Newsround they wanted the fashion industry to use a wider range of images, which show people as they really are.

On Thursday, the department store Debenhams said they would no longer use images of models which had been retouched.
