Is the B.R.U.T.E too powerful?

Fortnite makers Epic Games have responded to players' requests to change the new mecha vehicle in Season 10.

The Brute - or B.R.U.T.E. written out in full - is a new addition to the latest version of the game, which dropped last week. Whilst many people were initially excited about the giant robot, the new mecha vehicle has caused some controversy with players.

Players and top streamers such as TFue, Mongraal and World Cup Solo winner Bugha complained that it was too powerful and should be nerfed, or powered down.

Critics also said it caused bugs and glitches, which resulted in people losing out on Victory Royales.

Epic Games have responded with a patch update, they said: "We've been monitoring the impact of the B.R.U.T.E. in gameplay and are investigating ways to enhance combat feedback when interacting with the vehicle."

In the update players can now see a targeting laser, and hear audio clues when the B.R.U.T.E.'s missiles are pointed at them, giving players a heads up.

The company said they'd also fixed some of the movement bugs players were experiencing.

The update also said that the mecha vehicle would remain in competitive Arena and Tournament play.

The response has been mixed online, with a lot of people still very unhappy about the B.R.U.T.E.

B.R.U.T.E. packs a lot of firepower!

The Brute is an absolute juggernaut with 1,000 health, which is around five times more than the maximum health and shield of regular players.

It can also clear long distances in a short space of time, while its rockets and stomp ability can obliterate players in an instant.

Players have compared it to the Infinity Blade item from Season 7, which was also deemed over-powered.

It lasted three days in the game before Epic developers removed it.
