Who needs an expensive bag when you have the ultimate sentimental accessory?

Forget designer handbags, expensive accessories and latest fashion trends...

Star of stage and screen Hannah Waddingham threw out the "red carpet rule book" and was seen using a handbag made out of cardboard at the Screen Actor's Guild Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles.

But what made the unconventional accessory really special, was that her nine-year-old daughter had made it for her.

The British singer and actress carried the sentimental piece whilst schmoozing with her fellow stars, and wearing a beautiful crimson gown.

Hannah found fame on the world famous West End and Broadway theatre stages, followed by big roles in films such as Hocus Pocus 2.

She has also presented big awards ceremonies and co-hosted the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool.

The 49-year-old showed off the handmade clutch bag while proudly informing journalists that her daughter wanted to "contribute" to her outfit.

The cardboard bag was decorated with rainbow colours and featured the word 'Epic'.

She said she had insisted on bringing it with her, despite her daughter, who is called Kitty, reassuring her she needn't use it on the night.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Kitty had reportedly said: 'You know mommy, you don't need to…you don't need to take it.' And I was like, 'No, it's going on the red carpet with me.' Imagine, my stylist was like, 'Wait what?'"
