Who do you think should win BBC Sports Personality of the Year?

The shortlist of six contenders has been announced and the winner will be revealed on Tuesday 17 December during the show on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

They'll join the likes of Mary Earps, Beth Mead and Emma Raducanu who have all won over the past three years.

Other awards that will be presented on the night include Young Sports Personality of the Year, Team and Coach of the Year, the Unsung hero award, The Lifetime Achievement and World Sport Star - for those competing in sport outside of the UK.

The judging panel for this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year came from the world of sport, broadcasting and journalism.

It included five-time Olympic cycling champion Dame Laura Kenny, ex-runner Iwan Thomas, Paralympian Ade Adepitan, former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha and Ireland rugby veteran Rory Best.
