Forest Green Rovers have unveiled a rather attention-grabbing kit

Football club Forest Green Rovers have released a brand new kit, and it's certainly got people talking.

The team claims the kit, which comes in fluorescent green for home and fluorescent pink for away, is the "world's first fully certified vegan kit".

Forest Green Rovers, who are known for their commitment to environmentally friendly causes, worked with a charity called the Vegan Society to create the kit from fully recyclable materials.

The club says the new kit will be worn for two full seasons as part of efforts to reduce waste.

"In pursuit of the most sustainable football kit, we've experimented in previous seasons, with both bamboo and with coffee grounds," said club chairman Dale Vince.

"This season our new strip pushes the boundary again. I'm really pleased to unveil our bold, bright new kit that's inspired by nature and helping nature - that's pretty fabulous," he added.

The club promises that when the players are finished with their kits they won't be thrown away, instead, they will recycled into new products.

Fans have been divided on the kit, some have been critical of the design, with one describing it as "horrendous" but others aren't so disappointed, with one saying: "I love leopard print."
