Frankie the missing flamingo from Cornwall, spotted in northern France!

A flamingo which disappeared from a wildlife sanctuary in Cornwall over a week ago appears to be living in France.
Frankie escaped from a walled garden at Paradise Park, near St Ives, at the start of the month.
A sighting of a bird, meeting Frankie's description, was first reported in northern France over the weekend.
Now, two photos appear to show the bird on a beach in Brittany, with keepers "pretty certain" the pictures are of the missing fugitive.

What happened to Frankie the flamingo?

Frankie was born at the park in July and was the first chick to hatch from her nest and be reared by her parents.
However, on Sunday 2 November, she managed to fly off from Paradise Park.
Staff from the sanctuary searched the area and responded to local sightings of the young flamingo.
But despite their best efforts, they couldn't find Frankie anywhere.
Then, out of the blue, a sighting of a bird, meeting Frankie's description, was reported in Brittany in northern France over the weekend.
Paradise Park director Nick Reynolds explained: "We're pretty certain it is Frankie from the photos we've seen.
"We're just waiting for some more pictures to come through for better confirmation."

Mr Reynolds added it had been a "really difficult" week since the flamingo went missing but seeing the new photographs had been "lovely".
"She looks fit and well, which is brilliant," Mr Reynolds added.
Staff say that although it is possible for a flamingo to fly that distance, it was unusual.
In a post on social media, the park said: "Flamingos are capable of flying that distance, but we still feel amazed to see she has travelled so far, also relieved to see her looking so fit."
Mr Reynolds added that in the meantime, he hopes Frankie finds a colony of greater flamingos in south-west France, calling it the "best possible thing at the moment", as the sanctuary works out how it can get its "lovely girl" back home.
