How do you show kindness?

Can you remember the last time you were kind?
Kindness can be lots of things, from sharing your sweets, picking something up someone has dropped or helping someone who is struggling.
It means thinking about how other people feel and how we can make them feel better.
World Kindness Day is being celebrated on 13 November - it's a day to remind ourselves of the importance of being kind to others.
As part of this we want to know what kind things you've done recently.
Have you let someone join in your games at school? Maybe you've done something for charity?

When did World Kindness Day start?

There is a whole range of acts of kindness, helping animals is one way to be kind
World Kindness Day was started in 1998 by something called the World Kindness Movement.
The group isn't connected with any particular religion or culture.
Members came up with the idea of a day of celebration of kindness when they had a big meeting in Japan.
The goal was to "inspire individuals and nations to create a kinder world".
Why is it important to be kind?

When it comes to kindness, help doesn't go just one way.
While you being kind to someone can make someone else smile and improve their day somehow, it can also benefit you.
There have been scientific studies into how showing acts of kindness can even help your immune system, reduce stress, give you energy and it can also be good for your heart.
