Arsenal are on the hunt for a new permanent head coach after Jonas Eidevall resigned on Tuesday.

The club, who have won two League Cups under his management, have had a poor start to the Women's Super League (WSL) 2024-25 season, winning just once in four games.

Assistant coach Renee Slegers will take over the role until they can find a permanent replacement.

Eidevall, who is from Sweden, has been in charge for 70 matches over the last three years.

Arsenal's sporting director, Edu, said:

"We thank Jonas for his commitment to the club and achievements here since joining us in 2021.

"We have great respect for the dedication and commitment he showed to our women’s first team and recognise the role he has played in the growth and development of Arsenal Women."

The squad is made up of superstars from the England team and top international players, but they have failed to win the Women's Super League since 2019.

Arsenal attract some of the biggest crowds in the women's game, with over 40,000 people regularly attending their matches.
