Ariana and Cynthia have received their first Bafta film nominations

Wicked, the film adaptation of the hit musical, got a grand total of seven nominations including for costume designs and special visual effects.

It picked up an award at the Golden Globes earlier this year, but the film's stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande missed out on individual prizes.

But once again they are up for leading actress and supporting actress.

It's also the first time they've both received a Bafta film nomination.

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and The Wild Robot have both received a total of three nominations and will be facing off against each other including for Children's and Family Film.

They will be joined in that category by Flow and the film adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's Kensuke's Kingdom.

They will also battle it out for Animated Film Award - where they will face tough competition from Inside Out 2.

It's not just feature length films that are celebrated, two shorts in Mog's Christmas and Rock, Paper, Scissors also received nominations.
