Video: Giant flocks of birds in Swindon

For a number of weeks thousands of starlings have been turning and swooping in perfect unison over the town centre of Swindon.

The starlings take flight twice a day on the look out for food.

The long cold winter is the most likely explanation for the flocking because the town is warmer than the surrounding countryside.

It's an impressive sight. However, thousands of birds means a lot of bird droppings!
