Hurricanes to heatwaves: US hit by extreme weather

Extreme weather is continuing to cause havoc in Mexico and the US.

Tropical storm Odile reached land on Sunday in northern Mexico as a category three hurricane, damaging homes and holiday resorts. Thousands of stranded tourists had to be airlifted out of the Los Cabos resort area.

Meanwhile in the US, authorities are fighting wildfires that have been raging in California. A heatwave is also threatening power supplies.

And in Arizona, people are preparing for heavy rain and flash flooding as the hurricane moves inland.
