Warm UK weather fools toads and frogs

Every spring toads and frogs leave the place where they have been living during winter and return to the ponds where they were born.

They do this to lay their eggs so a next generation of toads and frogs can be born.

The creatures wait for nightfall to do this so they're not spotted by predators.

But this year, because of the warmer temperatures we've been having, the toads think that spring has arrived already, so they're setting off to make their journey.

And because sunset comes earlier during winter, in some places in the UK the frogs are making the trip earlier in the day.

Many are crossing at peak times when the roads are busy with lots of people driving home from work.

That mean the roads and paths they travel on are more dangerous.
