How is a Formula 1 car different to a family car?

This week marks the end of the Formula 1 racing season.

Many of you will know the famous drivers who get behind the wheel, like British world champion Lewis Hamilton.

But how much do we really know about the incredible machines they drive?

Adrian Newey is Chief Technical Officer for Red Bull Racing, which means he designs F1 cars and knows a lot about them.

He has been in charge of designing six different cars that have won the World Championship - that's more titles than Lewis Hamilton!

Newsround asked him to answer the big question - how is a Formula 1 car different to a family car?
