UK Weather: How do storms get their names?

Have you ever wondered how storms get their names?

The UK has a national weather service called the Met Office and since 2014 they've been working with Ireland's weather centre to name storms.

The first ever storm to be named was Storm Abigail and now new storm names get listed every year and the Met Office moves through the alphabet, alternating by girls and boys names.

But that's unless someone else names it first...
