You might have seen lots of strange, confusing and untrue stories online or being shared on social media about coronavirus.
So where do they come from? BBC fake news investigator Marianna Spring has been finding out.
She says people make them up for all sorts of reasons - for laughs, for clicks, for likes, and sometimes to cause trouble.
