Notts County midfielder Jeff Hughes has joined Fleetwood to become their third new arrival in the space of 24 hours.

The 27-year-old rejected a contract offer from the League One club to sign a two-year deal at Highbury.

Hughes, a left-sided player, made 99 appearances in two seasons at Meadow Lane, having previously played for Lincoln City and Bristol Rovers.

, external Matty Blair and Liam Hogan have all agreed moves to the Cod Army since the end of the season.

Northern Ireland international Hughes, who has dropped down a division to move to the Fylde coast, told the club website: "The idea of how Fleetwood plan to go forward was sold to me and it's an exciting prospect.

"Overall, I was pleased with my two seasons at County. I'll bring that experience with some goals and a competitive edge from midfield."

Manager Graham Alexander added: "Jeff has experience and knows how to score goals. He's spent a few seasons in League One but knows all about our league."
