Swansea City have signed midfielder Giancarlo Gallifuoco as a free agent.
The 20-year-old has agreed a one-year deal at the Liberty Stadium after he was released by Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last season, having failed to make a first-team appearance.
The Australian-born midfielder will now link up with the club's under-21 squad.
"It's the perfect club for me to take the next step in my career and I can't wait to get started," Gallifuoco told the club's website., external
"I had a brief chat with [manager] Garry Monk and he said that there are opportunities at this club if I work hard and that's what I intend to do.
"I was excited when I learned of the club's interest and it's a Premier League club that plays brilliant football and I'm delighted to be here."
Gallifuoco will be reunited with former Tottenham team-mates Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Carroll, as well as free transfer James Demetriou, who he played alongside at under-11 level in Australia.
