Cambridge United have signed Peterborough United winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing on loan until 5 May.

The 22-year-old has played 16 times for Posh this season, but has not started a game since November.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Shrewsbury, making just six league appearances.

Mendez-Laing, who started his career at Wolves, becomes the first player to switch between the Cambridgeshire rivals in almost seven years.

Scott Rendell left the U's for Posh in February 2008, while Danny Crow moved the other way seven months later after being released by the London Road side.
