Wales Women ended their Istria Cup campaign on a high with a win on penalties against hosts Croatia.

Maja Joscak had given Croatia the lead just before half-time, but Wales got back on level terms 20 minutes from the end thanks to Angharad James.

With no extra time to be played the match went straight to penalties.

Although Helen Ward missed her opening kick Croatia missed their first two, and Wales held their nerve to win the fifth-sixth place play-off.

Jayne Ludlow's side were beaten 1-0 by France B in their opening game of the Istria Cup, then held to a 0-0 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina before beating Costa Rica 1-0.
