The Rams had home advantage for last week's wildcard game against the Minnesota Vikings but the game had to be switched to Phoenix, Arizona, because of wildfires around Los Angeles.

There were some close to the Rams' practice facility so they travelled to Arizona on Friday and trained at the Cardinals' facility before beating Minnesota on Monday.

The players then spoke about how they had been inspired by the people of LA, and this week defensive lineman Kobie Turner gave BBC Sport an insight into the team's preparation for the game.

  3. Rams have to 'stop Barkley's feet in the backfield'published at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

After having a HUGE game last time the Eagles met the Rams, Saquon Barkley has occupied a lot of the Rams' preparation this week.

"That's been the key emphasis, being able to stop 26," the Rams' defensive lineman Kobie Turner told BBC Sport. "He's the reason why their offence goes. He's that energy creator.

"He's a guy who might be getting three or four yards a pop, then if you leave a crease, he'll break out and spring a long one.

"Really for us, it starts and ends up front," he added. "We have to make the picture muddy, make sure his feet get stopped in the backfield, so that everybody else can come and clean it up and make a tackle.

"He's a guy who can make people miss and break a lot of tackles, and we have to get a ton of hats to the ball to be able to bring him down. He's in Offensive Player of the Year consideration for a reason, he's a great [running] back."

Lamar Jackson can make anything happen. We talk about moments in the NFL, those pivotal plays where someone has to step up. Lamar is always there. What's he's done running the ball this year is magnificent. All year long he has been on top of his game.

After a turbulent week, the Rams put in a solid performance to beat Minnesota last Monday and tied the play-off record with nine sacks, with Kobie Turner claiming two of them.

"I think the world got to see the true colours of this team, exactly how resilient, how relentless and how durable we are," he told BBC Sport.

"When we put it all together, nobody can stop us. We know that we have something special. It's about maximising what we have and being the best versions of ourselves. If we continue going forward in these play-offs, it'll be required every day and every week here on out."

The Rams were 5-6 after losing 37-20 at home to the Eagles at the end of November and Turner says "revenge is definitely on the mind".

"It's definitely a get-back week," he added. "We're a completely different team than then. We're a completely different defence and I'm going to make sure that the guys are ready to go.

"We're going to be firing on all cylinders and come out swinging. We're super-excited for the opportunity. The loser goes home or to Cancun, the winner keeps going, so we're very excited about this match-up."

  8. Last time out - Barkley batters Rams defencepublished at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

Los Angeles Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles (20:00 GMT)

The Eagles have happy recent memories of playing the Rams, beating them 37-20 in Week 12 in Los Angeles - behind another monster game from Saquon Barkley.

Barkley ran for a team record 255 rushing yards and had 302 total yards from scrimmage - that has to have left some scars on this Los Angeles defence, right?

  9. Los Angeles Rams - story of the seasonpublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

Los Angeles Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles (20:00 GMT)

It's been a mixed year for the LA Rams, but they came into form at just the right time. After starting the year 1-4, Sean McVay's side finished the year with five wins in six to win the NFC West with a 10-7 record.

Few expected Matthew Stafford & co. to get past the Minnesota Vikings on Wild Card weekend, but that's exactly what they did. The Rams defence had itself a day, sacking Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold nine times and scoring on a fumble return.

The Rams were torn to shreds by Eagles running back Saquon Barkley when the two sides met in week 11, unable to prevent him from putting up a remarkable 255 rushing yards en route to a 37-20 win. They'll look to make the most of lessons learned from that night.

That said, Stafford and his team-mates were able to outscore the Buffalo Bills in a 44-42 thriller in week 13, so are more than capable of taking on the big boys.

  10. Philadelphia Eagles story of the seasonpublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

The Eagles have been the bullies in the NFL this season, with a dominant offensive line and running back Saquon Barkley running riot through all the holes the big guys up front create on almost every play.

They opened up in Brazil beating the Packers but at 2-2 the jury was very much out, but they then won 10 in row when beating the likes of tonight's opponents the Rams along with the Ravens and Commanders.

Washington got revenge later in the season but 14-3 is more than healthy - and after a dodgy start their defence really grew into the season.

It's not pretty at times, but they grind teams down, thrive in the fourth quarter, and many still feel they have the best roster in the league - time for them to prove it.

Whoever triumphs tonight will be just one more win from visiting this place, the Caesars Superdome in Louisiana, where Super Bowl 59 will take place on 9 February.

The home of the New Orleans Saints underwent a five-year renovation costing $560m (£458.7m), which was completed in time for this season.

This year's Super Bowl coincides with the Superdome's 50th anniversary and the stadium has already hosted the NFL's championship game a record seven times.
