Packers QB Jordan Love escapes a sack on third-down-and-eight but heaves an aimless pass well away from anyone.

It's three-and-out for the Packers and Philadelphia will get the ball back in decent field position from the Green Bay punt.

This has got to be the best version of Jordan Love here for the Packers to win the game. You can't panic or change the game script. Just go out and execute.

Goodness me, almost another Green Bay turnover!

Jordan Love overthrows receiver Dontayvion Wicks and is fortunate to escape an interception.

Keisean Nixon makes a better job of his second kick-off return than he did his first.

But even then he can't get past the 25-yard line - and the Packers get backed up by a holding penalty.

Jordan Love's elbow issues will be tested out here, behind early and starting from deep inside his own half.

The game began with a rousing rendition of the Rocky theme in Philadelphia.

And now they might as well break into 'All the Time in the World' - because that's what Green Bay allow Jalen Hurts.

He's given FOREVER to find Jahan Dotson at the back of the endzone and, wow, the Eagles have made a flying start here in Philly.

  7. 'Critical for Packers to ensure Barkley doesn't get off to a great start'published at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

NFL pundit on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Saquon Barkley got 106 rushing yards in their first game of the season against Green Bay and you were like 'oh yeah, this is going to work. This might be the magic elixir that the Eagles were missing the year before'.

The Barkley fit's been big and it's so critical for Green Bay to make sure he doesn't get off to a great start, build that confidence and get the home ground fired up.

This is about the Packers hanging in this championship fight the first couple of rounds and stopping the run is a big part of that.

It's the speed Saquon Barkley has. The ability to break a tackle.. and then go into sixth gear. He is so impressive.

Controversy already as replays appeared to show that Nixon was on the ground before he lost possession.

However, the original call stands - and Saquon Barkley twists and turns his way to within 15 yards of the endzone.

    What a start!

The Eagles win the toss, elect to kick off and, as Packers returner Keisean Nixon is creamed by a huge hit, Philadephia recover the ball.

    Or do they?

The Philadelphia Eagles kicked off their season with a Friday night victory over the Packers in Sao Paulo, before losing two of their next three games.

But they then went on a 10-game winning streak, thanks mainly to their dominant run game, although they've also had one of the league's best defences. The Eagles conceded an average of 174.2 passing yards per game - the fewest in the NFL.

Their winning run was halted with a tight defeat by Washington but the Eagles bounced back to win their last two games of the regular season, without starting quarterback Jalen Hurts as he was ruled out with a concussion.

All three play-off games so far have gone the way of the home team and the highest seed.

    And comfortably so.

Can the seventh seed Packers buck that trend? Or will the second seed Eagles maintain the status quo?

  15. Packers aiming to emulate last season's upsetpublished at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

Graphic showing Green Bay Packers stats from the 2024 NFL regular season

The Green Bay Packers actually started their season against the Philadelphia Eagles with a Friday night game in Brazil - the NFL's first regular-season game in South America.

The Eagles ran out 34-29 winners but the Packers won 11 of their next 14 games, losing only to their divisional rivals Minnesota and Detroit (twice).

They ended the regular season with back-to-back defeats by Minnesota and Chicago so come into the play-offs as the NFC's seventh seed, just as they did last season.

But in Jordan Love's first play-off game, Green Bay became the first number seven seed to claim a play-off win when they upset Dallas and they almost did the same to San Francisco the following week. Will there be another upset tonight?

Neither Jordan Love nor Jalen Hurts have been 100% this season. Both have missed starts, and this is the first time we'll see Jalen Hurts in three weeks.

It's a good match-up on paper, it better be a good one on the maths sheet because we've had three wildcard results so far and, really, not a lot of drama.

A belter? A close one in the fourth quarter? We'll sign up for that!

  17. Barkley hits the ground running in Phillypublished at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

In his first season since joining the Philadelphia Eagles from divisional rivals the New York Giants, Saquon Barkley became just the second player to pass 2,000 rushing yards since Adrian Peterson in 2012.

Had the 27-year-old not been rested for the Eagles' final regular-season game last week - a 20-13 win over his former team - then he could well have broken Eric Dickerson's record of 2,105 yards from 1984.

Jason Bell speaking on Sky Sports about Eagles running back Saquon Barkley: "For the Eagles to bring in a playmaker like Barkley behind that offensive line, they'll lean on that running game tonight and I think they ride it all the way to the final four."

Phoebe Schecter, BBC Sport columnist: "Barkley has been so great for the Eagles. You see the way the offensive line has elevated itself because of him. His breakaway speed leaves people in the dust.

Just like the Baltimore Ravens last night, there's no question about where the biggest threat will come from tonight with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Only the Ravens had more rushing yards than the Eagles during the regular season, with Eagles running back Saquon Barkley being the rushing leader while only two quarterbacks had more rushing yards than Jalen Hurts (630).

  20. 'Eagles have been quietly chugging along'published at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles (21:30 GMT)

[Packers quarterback] Jordan Love is able to play after hurting his elbow last week but [receiver] Christian Watson is out, and the Packers are going against an Eagles team that has been quietly chugging along.

[Eagles running back] Saquon Barkley was rested last week when 100 yards short of the NFL record for rushing yards in a season, and [quarterback] Jalen Hurts is back from concussion protocol after missing two games so I think the Eagles have this.
