"No question the Eagles defence is the number one in the NFL.

"It had a slow start but after first five games, they've taken it to another level and have been able to dominate."

  2. Love Hurts for tonight's quarterbackspublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles (21:30 GMT)

Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts both missed a couple of games through injury this year but are here for when it really matters.

They've led two balanced offences, and although the Eagles lean more on their run game, Hurts has registered his career-best passer rating of 103.7 this season.

These two started the season with the Eagles winning the NFL's first ever game in Brazil, and Philadelphia are fancied for a repeat at home with probably the most talented roster in the NFL and possibly the best defence right now.

The big question here is over both quarterbacks with Jalen Hurts having concussion and Jordan Love a bad elbow, so running backs Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs will see plenty of action.

The combined 25 wins between these two is the most ever in a wildcard game.

Looking ahead to Ravens at Bills in the AFC Divisional round:

Both Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen can have jitters early on in games. Which one settles down quickly and early on is going to have the advantage.

  6. 'That's why we celebrate Allen'published at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Jason Bell
Former NFL cornerback on Sky Sports

I love watching Josh Allen. He was off to an aggressive start, then he struggled a bit, got back to his rhythm and then just took over the game. That's why we celebrate him, he just gets better.

Great quarterbacks identify what you're trying to do and they capitalise on it. When they've got to make a play, when it all looks muddy, they clean you up. That's what he did. When things were breaking down he made the play. You knew he had command. He made it happen.

    Divisional round

The AFC's side of the play-off bracket is set, with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans and the Bills now taking on the Baltimore Ravens at home.

The games take place next Saturday and Sunday - kick-off times to be confirmed.

Now it's time to switch attention to the NFC side of proceedings, which begins in approximately 20 minutes' time...

We're going to see who the MVP is (in Ravens at Bills), that's what it comes down to.

Which one of these quarterbacks is going to step up or which one of these defences is going to step up.

  9. 'Got a lot of film to watch'published at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-31 Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen speaking to CBS:

"I've been saying all year long that Ty Johnson is the best third down back in football. The things he's able to do for us, how we communicate, the pass game, blocking, running the ball, he does it all. I'm so happy for him, proud, he made a heck of a play [on the key fourth-down-and-one touchdown catch].

On facing the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round:

"They (Ravens) got after us this year, we've got a lot of film to watch. It's a great team, great quarterback, Lamar (Jackson) with what he's able to do, he's the most dynamic quarterback in the league. But I'll be watching the defence."

    Breaking

Denver kept it close until half-time but second seeds Buffalo's class told in the second half.

Josh Allen throws for two touchdowns and 272 yards but it was the Bills' defense who shone in this one.

Having given up a score on the opening Denver drive, they then kept the Broncos scoreless for the remainder of the game.

And Allen did what Allen does as the Bills - perennial NFL bridesmaids - gave themselves yet another chance to walk the aisle.

  11. Bills regain ball on downspublished at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-31 Buffalo Bills

Bo Nix heaves a hopeful one up on fourth-and-17 and it's almost intercepted by Damar Hamlin but overturned on review.

It's irrelevant though as the ball turns over on downs and Buffalo regain possession midway in the Denver half.

We can stick a fork in this one, folks.

  12. Sackpublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-31 Buffalo Bills

Remember when Denver began this game with a go-ahead touchdown?

Seems a long time ago, no? They've been held scoreless for virtually two and a half hours since.

And they might not even get a second consolation score as Greg Rousseau piles onto Bo Nix for a sack to leave the Broncos with a daunting fourth-and-17...

  13. 'Cementing the game'published at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-31 Buffalo Bills

    Ndamukong Suh
Former NFL defensive tackle and 2021 Super Bowl winner on Sky Sports

What I love about what Buffalo is doing is they're cementing the game.

The Ravens let the Steelers come back a bit, but Buffalo are showing the Broncos and everybody that they're going to finish this game off and prepare for the next one.

  14. field goal

Field goalpublished at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

Tyler Bass completes the formalities of the short-range field goal and the gap is 24 points.

Buffalo heading for a divisional-round game against Baltimore - Josh Allen vs Lamar Jackson. Mouth-watering prospect.

  15. Postpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-28 Buffalo Bills

Buffalo running the ball to just wind down the clock now.

At worst, they'll kick a field goal and Denver will need three touchdowns - plus three two-point conversions - to tie.

In less than five minutes. Not happening.

Very aggressive play calling right here. Joe Brady isn't going to let the pedal down. I'm not sure I'd want my quarterback to keep taking these hits against the team that led the NFL in sacks this year!

  17. Taunting penaltypublished at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-28 Buffalo Bills

Mack Hollins hauls in a Josh Allen pass on a crossing route to come close to a touchdown but is tackled yards shy.

But the catch is almost for naught as Hollins gets flagged for a taunting penalty for a bit of silly business over his fallen tackler. That puts Buffalo back 15 yards.

But with time running out, under six minutes, it matters little.

  18. Another third-down Bills conversionpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-28 Buffalo Bills

That won't improve Sean Payton's mood as Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir breaks a couple of tackles to turn what would have been a loss into a six-yard gain.

Then, on third down, Josh Allen lets a long ball rip to tight end Dalton Kincaid, who hauls it in for a 30-yard reception.

It's close whether he completed the catch but the Bills do not give Denver time to challenge, quickly running off the next play.

  19. Postpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Denver Broncos 7-28 Buffalo Bills

On third-and-one, Buffalo eschew any negative thoughts and throw the ball as Josh Allen spins right and finds Ty Johnson.

More time off the clock, nine minutes left, and another first down.

The Bills closing in on punching their ticket to the divisional round.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton was very unhappy with the execution of that key fourth-down play.

His side have to play no-mistake football now. And even then they need luck on their side.
