Robin van Persie at Man Utd a game-changer - Schmeichel

Peter Schmeichel describes Manchester United's £24m signing of Arsenal's Robin van Persie as a "game-changer".

The former Man Utd goalkeeper believes the purchase of the 29-year-old Dutch forward makes United "absolute favourites" to win this season's Premier League title.

Schmeichel admits that losing the title to Manchester City "hurt" everyone at Old Trafford and points to the 4-4 home draw with Everton as the decisive slip-up in their campaign.

City begin the defence of their title on Sunday at home to newly promoted Southampton, while United face Everton on Monday.
