Cirrus Des Aigles wins Champion Stakes at Ascot

French horse Cirrus Des Aigles upset the odds in the Champion Stakes at Ascot, beating the hot favourite So You Think by three-quarters of a length.

However, winning jockey Christophe Soumillon was later penalised for breaching the new whip rules and fined his prize money of more than £50,000, the biggest purse in British racing.
