Michael Johnson against lifetime Olympic doping bans

Former US sprinter Michael Johnson believes drug cheats should miss their next Olympics but says lifetime bans are not fair.

The four-time Olympic gold medallist says athletes who receive a one to two year ban and do not miss an Olympic Games, such as LaShawn Merritt, are not sufficiently deterred.

Johnson, who is in London attending the Laureus Sport for Good Summit, still believes everyone deserves a second chance, "even cheaters," adds the sprinting legend.
