Terry Flanagan: Undefeated British champion earns world title shot
- Published
British champion Terry Flanagan has earned a world title shot after taking the WBO European lightweight crown.
The 25-year-old beat Ireland's Stephen Ormond, 31, in a world title eliminator in Wolverhampton on Saturday, by virtue of disqualification for head butting.
It sets the Manchester-based fighter up for a title bout with either Juan Diaz or Takahiro Ao this summer.
The WBO title is vacant with reigning champion Terence Crawford soon to step up to light welterweight.
