And now time for the champion to make her ring walk to the familiar tune of Belter by Gerry Cinnamon.

She's dressed in all pink and she's the main attraction in her hometown tonight.

  2. Harper's always up for a challengepublished at 23:10 British Summer Time 23 May

    Harper v Zimmermann

You certainly can't say Terri Harper backs away from a good scrap!

Last time out, she put on a brilliant display to beat Rhiannon Dixon to become a three-weight world champion before retiring in the fourth round in her fight with Sandy Ryan.

Cecilia Braekhus came to Sheffield in October 2023 and the pair put on a great battle in the ring - so much so that the judges couldn't separate them.

    Here comes Natalie Zimmermann.

She's got a German song playing as she slowly makes her way to the ring and unfortunately my German GCSE doesn't stretch far enough to know what it's saying.

  5. Both boxers in great shapepublished at 23:08 British Summer Time 23 May

    Harper v Zimmermann

Both fighters looked in incredible shape when they weighed in yesterday.

Champion Terri Harper hit the scales at 9st 9lb while Natalie Zimmermann weighed in at 9st 8lb.

Almost nothing between them on the scales, but something's got to give tonight.

"But isn't Terri Harper a Matchroom fighter?" Yep, those were my thoughts too and don't worry, she still is!

Harper is on loan to GBM for the night because you can't have a huge show in Doncaster without the hometown world champion on it.

You know what that means... the main event is just around the corner.

  8. Stadiums lighting up British boxingpublished at 23:04 British Summer Time 23 May

    Harper v Zimmermann

Doncaster's Eco-Power Stadium isn't quite the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or Wembley but it's still putting on a great show.

We've seen some incredible scenes in British boxing in recent years - most recently at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for that incredible dust up between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.

Wembley has seen it's fair share too and will be hosting Daniel Dubois' bid for undisputed when he takes on Oleksandr Usyk in July.

Hughes beats Sharp by unanimous decision

No one really knew how the result was going to go but it's Hughes who takes the win. He was the one trying to make it all happen.

Sharp looks gutted and so do his corner, they thought he had that wrapped up.

    Harsh but fair, Charlotte.

The crowd are surprisingly still quite energetic. Made of different stuff these Yorkshire folk. They certainly enjoyed the result, if not the fight.

  12. Round 12published at 22:58 British Summer Time 23 May

    Hughes v Sharp

    To the scorecards we go!

Both fighters raise their hands and the corner of Archie Sharp are convinced he's won it.

Got to say that was one of the worst fights I've seen for a long time.

The aura of the fight for me is that Hughes has at least tried to make things happen. It's disappointing.

  15. Round 11published at 22:54 British Summer Time 23 May

    Hughes v Sharp

Into the final round we go unsurprisingly.

Hughes landed a decent right hook on the jaw of Sharp but still not much back in response other than a bit of showboating.

I remember once they were talking about Sharp fighting Shakur Stevenson. I think he's been watching too many of Stevenson's off nights.

  17. Round 10published at 22:51 British Summer Time 23 May

    Hughes v Sharp

I've still no idea how the judges will be scoring this one but it's one of those fights that's incredibly frustrating to watch because of the lack of action.

Hughes is trying to spark something but he can rarely connect with Sharp so light on this feet and dancing.

He must've covered about 10km in the ring tonight.

It says 'we are back!' on the back of Sharp's team shirts. It's not a performance that we will be dining out on. It's a shame because we were all so exited for this fight.

What do we know about Natalie Zimmerman? We better find out, just in case she causes a mammoth upset tonight.

The 42-year-old is a shepherd's daughter who was born on a farm in north Germany. She did taekwondo before moving to kickboxing and becoming a German champion.

Zimmerman is a qualified personal trainer and physio who only took up boxing at the age of 37 and has won all 13 pro bouts, with three knockouts.

She hasn't, however, ever fought anyone of Terri Harper's calibre. Not one of Zimmerman's opponents had won more than they lost when she fought them.
