This is huge because the whole boxing world has benefitted from Riyadh Season apart from women's boxing. We started to talk about a female fight on a card about six months ago. What Riyadh Season didn't want to do was put one on LA or London card because they didn't want the first one to be outside of Riyadh season in Saudi Arabia. They wanted to put a female fight on the card when we returned to Saudi in October.

This is a really fitting one. It's Matchroom v Queensberry and was easy to make. We've been looking to make the card for a while and it's also a really good fight, a great clash of styles. It's a fight that is probably the best in the division, if you take Amanda Serrano out of the equation for now as she hasn't boxed at featherweight for a while.

It's a big moment for women's boxing. If this can become a regular occurrence you'll really see that benefit drive through all of women's boxing as well.

Saudi Arabia has played host to some of the biggest boxing events over the past 12 months, and on Saturday – for the first time – the Kingdom will host a women's world title fight.

Australia's Skye Nicolson will defend her WBC featherweight title against Briton Raven Chapman, on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev v Dmitry Bivol, in Riyadh.

"This is a much-needed and big shot in the arm for women's boxing as it joins the Riyadh Season train which is moving to a greater destination for boxing," promoter Eddie Hearn tells BBC Sport.

The fight happens against the backdrop of a nation continually criticised by human rights organisations, particularly around its treatment of women and minority groups.
