Really good boxing from Nicolson. Keeping the distance, not letting Chapman in. Showed what it's like to be a champion and what it's like to be up against a champion too. Beautiful boxing.

  8. Round ninepublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 12 October

    Nicolson v Chapman

Chapman's been a bit guilty of overcommitting and getting too close to unload on Nicolson. That being said, it's a good round for Chapman with a solid right landing.

The last action of the round comes from Nicolson with a lovely straight right.

"I think we've got to knock her out. We've got to give it everything now", is the call from Chapman's corner.

    Nicolson v Chapman

This certainly isn't like the all-action stuff we're used to from women's boxing. It's more of a chess match at the moment.

Chapman seems a little reluctant to throw much because of Nicolson's countering skills. Nicolson is yet to settle into her rhythm.

  17. Bizarre finish on the undercardpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 12 October

Earlier tonight, Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron met in a light-heavyweight contest and it concluded in very strange circumstances.

Late in the fifth round, the two fighters locked arms and Cameron backed Whittaker towards the ropes.

Once Whittaker could walk back no further, the pair tumbled over the top rope and landed awkwardly on the outside of the ring.

Both eventually returned to their feet but Cameron looked in much better shape than Whittaker, who was helped on to a stool and treated by the doctors.

Whittaker appeared to injury his right foot and back.

It wasn't long until they called for a wheelchair to carry the Olympic silver medallist out of the arena.

    In terms of the result?

    A technical decision split draw.

On judge gave it Whittaker (58-57) one picked Cameron (58-57) with the third opting for 58-58.
