Eubank beats Benn by unanimous decision

After the cancelled first fight, which was scheduled for 8 October 2022, there was a danger that this fight could be overhyped.

All the talk of family legacy and trying to emulate the rivalry of their fathers.

World titles may not have been on the line - as was the case when Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn met in the 1990s - but that was some scrap.

Pure passion, desire and will to succeed on show from both Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.

    And that atmosphere 👌

Eubank beats Benn by unanimous decision

Chris Eubank Jr after victory against Conor Benn: "First of all, I thank the one above.

"I knew I could do that, I just needed someone to bring that out of me and I didn't think that he would be the guy to do that.

"The fact our fathers did it years ago brings out a different spirit into you and that's what we showed here tonight.

"I'm happy to have this man [Eubank Sr] back with me. We upheld the family name - onwards and upwards."

    Agreed Ryan.

I felt it was a little tighter but there were some tight rounds that were difficult to score.

It was definitely a contest of two halves.

Right result but surprised how wide the judges had the margin. Closer than that on my card. Boxing the real winner tonight though! Exceeded expectations that fight.

    This could be a draw.

I had it going down to the final round.

The cynics out there would say it was always going to be a draw to force a rematch but you can't argue with what we've just seen.

There is applause somewhere around this office... I don't know where it's coming from but if I was able to take my hands off this keyboard I would be clapping too.

    What a fight.

I don't know if Eubank has enough energy to get a knockout but he could force the referee to step in.

    30 seconds to go.

There has been three outrageous and exceptional rounds and the rest of the rounds have been incredible. This fight has gone beyond all expectational expectations.

I'm genuinely flabbergasted and lost for words.

They claw away at each other as they meet in the middle.

Benn stops firing back as Eubank takes control of the round.

Again, not a great deal of power but more than enough to catch the eye of the judges.

A really strong end to the round from Eubank.

I've given them five rounds each with the eighth a draw.

Does it come down to round 12?
