Gloucestershire's stand-in captain Alex Gidman scored a fine century before Worcestershire fought back on day two.

Resuming on 57 not out, Gidman made 146 before he was bowled by Joe Leach (4-100) as the visitors collapsed from 342-5 to 378 all out - a lead of 184.

Gareth Roderick added just 10 to his overnight score as he fell two short of a century to Charlie Morris (3-73).

Richard Oliver (84 not out) and Alexei Kervezee (50 not out) then put on 122 as Worcestershire closed on 154-2.

Gidman, who stood down from the full-time captaincy at the end of the 2012 season, hit 22 fours and one six in his 232 ball innings - his highest score of the season.

Worcestershire's Oliver, who was playing Minor Counties cricket for Shropshire earlier in this year, had reached his highest score in first-class cricket at stumps and will resume just 16 runs off a maiden century on day three.
