  1. Bye for nowpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 4 September

Australia beat Scotland by seven wickets

That's all from Andrew and I today, on a chastening afternoon for Scotland.

We'll be back on Friday to do it all again.

Thanks for your company today - go enjoy your evening!

  2. 'I wasn't ready' - should this wicket have stood?published at 17:08 British Summer Time 4 September

There was also controversy during Australia's innings when Josh Inglis was bowled by Mark Watt, but said he wasn't ready and the umpires deemed it a no-ball.

  4. 'Exposure against Australia will only make us better'published at 16:59 British Summer Time 4 September

Australia beat Scotland by seven wickets

Scotland captain Richie Berrington has also been talking post-match: "That's what you expect against one of the best sides in the world.

"We started pretty well with the bat, but unfortunately a few of us got in and didn't kick on. Credit to the Australian bowlers, they made it hard to get away and capitalise on that good start.

"We're really disappointed but it's a great experience, particularly for some of our younger guys. We need to dust ourselves down. There's another opportunity in a couple of days that we have to look forward to.

"As a team we want to keep improving and getting exposure against teams like Australia will only make us better. We have to keep belief because we've shown we can compete when we play our best cricket. Unfortunately we didn't do that today."

  5. 'My role to maximise powerplay'published at 16:53 British Summer Time 4 September

Australia beat Scotland by seven wickets

Travis Head has unsurprisingly been named Player of the Match and has been talking post-match: "A nice way to get under way. We've loved our time here so far.

"I was a little nervous coming out so it was nice for me and the captain to get some runs.

"It's been a nice period for the last couple of years. It was a tricky start losing Jake, but always nice to have Mitch at the other end, and my role is to maximise the powerplay - we did that."

  6. Postpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 4 September

Australia beat Scotland by seven wickets

Michael Leask spoke before the game about Scotland's frustration about a lack of opportunities against the game's superstars, and that lack of experience was evident today.

Australia were simply too strong with both bat and ball.

  8. AUSTRALIA win by seven wicketspublished at 9.4 overs

    Scotland 154-9 v Australia 156-3

A massive six from Marcus Stoinis finishes the job.

That was a brutal chase from Australia, who race to their target with 62 balls to spare.

Travis Head was the star of the show with a 25-ball 80.

  9. AUS 150-3 (target 155)published at 9.3 overs

A scoop and a cover drive both bring Josh Inglis four off Jack Jarvis.

    Five to win...

  10. AUS 141-3 (target 155)published at 9 overs

Another tidy over from Mark Watt. He's been the only Scotland bowler able to stem the flow of runs.

  11. AUS 138-3 (target 155)published at 8.1 overs

Another 24-yarder from Mark Watt and again the Australia batter pulls away.

Again it's signalled dead ball, which to me is a complete nonsense.

  12. AUS 138-3 (target 155)published at 8 overs

We've had a slight delay as Marcus Stoinis receives treatment for a blow on his arm.

Australia need 17 to win from 12 overs. I reckon they will get there...

  13. AUS 137-3 (target 155)published at 7.5 overs

Josh Inglis smashes Jasper Davidson for six over the leg-side.

He could - probably should - have been out first ball. Mark Watt bowled one to him from 24 yards, as is his want, and bowled the Australia number four.

Inglis had pulled away as the ball came down and the umpires signalled dead ball, much to the disgust of the home crowd.

I can't imagine it would have affected the result, but still.

  14. AUS 123-3 (target 155)published at 16:23 British Summer Time 4 September

It feels like a long time ago that Brandon McMullen dismissed Jake Fraser-McGurk for a duck.

  15. wicket

WICKET Head c Leask b Watt 80published at 7 overs

    AUS 123-3 (target 155)

The onslaught comes to an end as Michael Leask takes an excellent boundary catch.

Travis Head gets a deserved ovation as he trudges off.

  16. 6 runs

    AUS 123-2 (target 155)published at 6.5 overs

Mark Watt conceded just four runs from his first four deliveries, but his fifth is hammered for six over square-leg by Travis Head.

The Australia opener now has 80 from 24 balls - he's ridiculously good.

  17. wicket

WICKET Marsh c Leask b Watt 39published at 6.1 overs

    AUS 113-2 (target 155)

Watt ends the run of boundaries, but it's too little, too late for Scotland.

Mitch Marsh targets another six, this time down the ground, but he doesn't quite time it and Michael Leask takes a good catch.

  18. 6 runs

    AUS 113-1 (target 155)published at 6 overs

The last 14 balls have now gone for boundaries.

That's the highest ever powerplay total in the history of T20 internationals.

Mark Watt is coming on. Good luck...

  19. 50 runs

for Travis Headpublished at 5.1 overs

    AUS 91-1 (target 155)

Four more for Travis Head, and that's his 50 off just 17 balls - the joint-fastest in T20s for Australia.

  20. 6 runs

    AUS 87-1 (target 155)published at 5 overs

    This is brutal.

    That over reads 6,6,4,6,4,4.

Mitch Marsh has 39 from 11 balls and Australia are already more than halfway to their target.
