It really is a gorgeous day here at the Grange. George has had to borrow some sun cream from the Cricket Australia media team.

There's an Aussie fan in the crowd with a woolly hat on, though. Levels to this.

  7. SCO 46-1published at 5 overs

Short again from Meredith and Munsey hooks it down to fine leg - just for four this time.

Munsey has 24 from just 13 balls and the home crowd are loving it.

  8. 6 runs

    SCO 42-1published at 4.5 overs

    Hello George Munsey!

The returning Riley Meredith - a late inclusion in this squad due to Josh Hazlewood's injury - drops short and is smashed for six by Scotland's opener.

This one is fuller, but it's the same result. Whipped off his pads, and that's out the ground. Enormous.

  9. SCO 29-1published at 4 overs

It's been a decent enough start for Scotland, this.

They lost Oli Hairs early, but Brandon McMullen and George Munsey have ticked along nicely.

"Hello!" shout the children to our left at Aussie quick Xavier Bartlett.

They're called into actions moments later when George Munsey nails one that lands about 30cm from a young girl. She seemed incredibly nonplussed about that.

  11. 6 runs

    SCO 28-1published at 3.1 overs

George Munsey gets one on his pads from Xavier Bartlett and tucks in.

A flick of the wrists sends it soaring over the leg-side for the day's first six.

  12. SCO 22-1published at 3 overs

Sean Abbott is into the attack from the pavilion end and starts with a wide down the leg-side that Josh Inglis can't take cleanly.

McMullen stands up tall to punch two more through the off-side before a couple of boundaries for Scotland's number three.

He slashes one over the slip cordon and then hammers a pull shot through midwicket for four more.

  13. SCO 10-1published at 2 overs

McMullen gets off the mark with two off his hip to end the second over.

  14. wicket

WICKET Hairs c Marsh b Bartlett 6published at 1.4 overs

    Scotland 8-1

Oli Hairs looks to take on a short ball from Bartlett, but it hits high on the bat and Mitch Marsh takes a straightforward catch at mid-off.

Brandon McMullen is in at three, who smashed 60 off 34 balls against Australia at the recent World Cup.

Hairs and Munsey trade singles from the first two balls of Xavier Bartlett's opening set.

He won't see himself in. Only plays one way does the left-hander.
