  1. Bears pass 50 four down at Tauntonpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 51-4

Will Rhodes tries to squeeze Josh Davey through point but there's no run.

He finds a gap on the leg side third ball in the over for one.

Ed Barnard is off the mark to his seventh ball, riding the bounce and pushing off the back foot through cover for four.

Warwickshire's innings 50 comes in the 18th over but they've lost early wickets and the pressure is firmly on the visiting team.

  2. Division Two latestpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 30 June

Two wickets in two balls have Yorkshire on top against Derbyshire at Chesterfield. The hosts are wobbling at 37-3 after deciding to bat first.

In the delightful surrounds of Cheltenham College, Gloucestershire are in trouble at 45-4 with two wickets for Glamorgan opening bowler Timm van der Gugten.

After losing two early wickets, Lewis Hill and Lewis Goldsworthy have added 60 to take Leicestershire's score to 77-2 against Middlesex at Grace Road.

Meanwhile Division Two leaders Sussex have just lost Australian batter Dan Hughes for 35 to reduce them to 61-2 in their match with Northants.

  3. 'It's not easy out there'published at 12:19 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 64-3 v Worcs

    Trevor Owens
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

From a Durham point of view - it's grinding out this session to lunch now.

    It's not easy out there.

From a Worcestershire point of view - they'll be delighted.

  4. Steady start from Stokespublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 67-4 v Worcs

A quiet start for Ben Stokes who remains on one after five balls.

Ollie Robinson is farming the strike and is the main aggressor, although he is having to rein in his attacking instincts with Durham in a spot of bother.

The green pitch isn't helping the batters' cause

The wicketkeeper takes a couple off Ben Allison's fourth over to tick his score along to 17.

  5. Where's summer gone?published at 12:15 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 63-4 v Worcs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have been put in on a green top in Chester-le-Street and they are struggling in gloomy and chilly conditions. The ball is also seaming around. I can't remember seeing a wicket as green as this one in a long time.

But, for the second time this season Scott Borthwick fell for a duck against Worcestershire. It was third ball today, LBW to Nathan Smith. At Kidderminster he fell second ball and on both occasions Durham were 1-1.

Colin Ackermann soon followed, caught behind for one off Tom Taylor. David Bedingham then fell for 21, leaving a ball from Ben Allison which jagged back and took his off stump.

And Alex Lees has also departed for 17, caught in the slips off Matthew Waite. Three of the four wickets have come in the bowlers' first overs.

  6. Postpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 46-4

Will Rhodes keeps the strike with a nudge to square leg for one off Josh Davey.

Warwickshire began this round in seventh place, just 17 points above the relegation zone and a lean morning session has compounded the pressure on the visiting team.

But there's nothing wrong with this shot from Will Rhodes, as he drives Migael Pretorius down the ground, all along the turf for four.

  7. 'Pitch could be indication to Somerset's ambitions'published at 12:12 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 40-2

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

I thought the nature of the pitch would be quite a telling indication as to what Somerset's ambitions are this season.

If it is a result pitch, which I'm not sure it is. But if that's the aim then they have genuine ambitions to win the County Championship.

They've still got Surrey to play, and if they can beat them second time around then they would be in with a fighting chance.

On the other hand, if it's a pretty flat pitch, eight points for a draw plus a few bonus points.

  8. 'Pretorius is certainly impressing'published at 12:11 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 40-4

    Annie Chave
    BBC Somerset

    Migael Pretorius is certainly impressing.

He was impressing with the bat as well at the last County Championship game.

  9. Stokes comes to the creasepublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 64-4 v Worcs

Ben Stokes walks to the pitch to join Ollie Robinson and has work to do.

He has not been able to contribute much with the bat this season, with 20 runs from three innings - 18 of them coming in one knock.

The England Test captain blocks out the first ball to give his partner the strike for the next over.

Robinson continues on his merry way by swatting Ben Allison with a fizzing shot to the point boundary. He moves on to 14 off 12 balls.

And Stokes pushes a quick single off Matthew Waite to get off the mark.

  10. Play to resume at 12:20 at the Ovalpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 8-0 v Essex

Of course - one must always add "weather permitting."

Currently grey but not raining at Surrey HQ.

  11. wicket

WICKET Mousley c Banton b Pretorius 2published at 12:06 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 40-4

Dan Mousley is beaten outside off in a tortured innings which ends in just four balls.

The coup de grace comes off the penultimate ball of the over, as Mousley shapes to hit into the on side and gets a leading edge low to Tom Banton at second slip.

    Migael Pretorius has 3-6!

Time for Ed Barnard to have a bat.

  12. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 29-1 v Notts

A strangled appeal from Dane Paterson and Joe Clarke behind the stumps as the bowler gets one past Keaton Jennings.

But that is the last ball we will see for the time being as rain starts to fall a bit heavier and the umpires are taking the players off.

  13. wicket

WICKET Lees c Jones b Waite 17published at 12:05 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 55-4 v Worcs

Matthew Waite gets his first bowl of the morning.

Alex Lees has a little look and then steps down the pitch to loft his second ball over mid on for four.

The next ball gets the same treatment, but Waite has the last laugh!

Lees pushes at the fifth ball and gets an outside edge which goes through low to second slip where Rob Jones takes a smart catch.

Someone called Ben Stokes is in.

  14. wicket

WICKET Hain b Pretorius 0published at 12:01 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 36-3

Somerset have emphatically won the opening hour.

Sam Hain is beaten defending on the front foot as Migael Pretorius gets the ball to strike the top of off.

Might have been a bit of inside edge onto the stumps.

Pretorius has his second wicket of the morning.

    Dan Mousley is in next.

  15. rain stops play

Rain stops play at the Ovalpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 8-0 v Essex

    No play at present.

Still a bit of drizzle in the air, sadly.

  16. Postpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 30 June

    Durham 47-3 v Worcs

Ollie Robinson is top of the Division One averages so not a bad replacement for second-placed David Bedingham.

He gets off the mark to his second ball, driving confidently past Ben Allison for two.

The bowler beats the bat in an immediate riposte, but to the final ball, Robinson takes a step and laces a square drive away for his boundary.

  17. Postpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 36-2

Sam Hain was the mainstay of the Warwickshire resistance against Hampshire in the last round and he survives a testing remainder of the over from Migael Pretorius, twice beating him outside off.

Josh Davey is back for his second spell and a wild leg side ball is well taken by a diving keeper James Rew behind the stumps.

Will Rhodes on 10 edges the fifth ball just short of Tom Abell at slip and gets away with a couple.

Perhaps a half chance at best.

Another ball edged short of Tom Abell.

Somerset are more than justifying their call to bowl first on winning the toss.

  18. 'A neat and tidy catch from Aldridge'published at 11:58 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 34-2

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

    Another big wicket.

That's a good piece of bowling by Migael Pretorius.

A very neat and tidy catch from Kasey Aldridge.

Somerset are on their way to justifying their decision to ask Warwickshire to bat first.

  19. Postpublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 30 June

    Lancashire 27-1 v Notts

Good stuff from Dane Paterson and Dillon Pennington.

One run to new batter Josh Bohannon in the 15 balls bowled since the dismissal of Luke Wells.

Pennington's half-a-dozen overs have given up just three runs with four overs, but he is now out of the attack as Olly Stone returns.

  20. wicket

WICKET c Aldridge b Pretorius 15published at 11:51 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 34-2

    Migael PretoriusImage source, Rex Features

Migael Pretorius strikes in his third over.

He draws Rob Yates forward to defend and the ball flies off the edge of the bat chest high to Kasey Alridge at second slip.

    Sam Hain is in next.
