    Somerset v Warwickshire 79-4

Another controlled edge from Ed Barnard, angling a back of a length ball wide of the slips for two.

Barnard keeps the strike with a single to Tom Kohler-Cadmore at long leg.

Careful rebuilding from Warwickshire after slipping to 40-4 in the 15th over.

  2. Postpublished at 12:48 30 June

    Durham 95-4 v Worcs

Ollie Robinson moves to 33 as he collects a fifth boundary, this time off the returning Tom Taylor.

Ben Stokes then gets in on the act as Taylor pitches it wide of leg stump, flicking it off his pads for his second four of the morning to climb into double figures.

Nine from the over and the Durham pair are upping the ante a little.

  3. Postpublished at 12:46 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 76-4

Close! Kasey Aldridge angles one into the left-handed Will Rhodes on 25 and the ball runs off the inside edge for four.

No shot at all, really. More of a loose waft.

A no ball follows overstepping and Rhodes subsequently defends carefully down the ground.

  4. 'Somerset have exploited the pitch really well'published at 12:45 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 70-4

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

This pitch was always going to be spicy this morning.

You can see they've left some grass on it. It's green, it's bare at the ends.

They've exploited it really well and if the toss had gone the other way, Warwickshire might have exploited it very well.

It's done a bit in the hands of some quality bowlers. They've taken their chances.

The wickets are tumbling in Division Two, with Sussex in a spot of bother at home to Northants.

Two wickets for Luke Procter have reduced the leaders to 76-3 approaching lunch.

Gloucestershire have dug themselves a huge hole at Cheltenham against Glamorgan.

Timm van der Gugten and Dan Douthwaite have two wickets apiece and the hosts are struggling on 70-5.

Leicestershire (87-3) had stabilised their innings against second-placed Middlesex after losing two early wickets, but Ethan Bamber has removed Lewis Hill for 36 to break a third-wicket stand of 65.

And Derbyshire will be relieved to be off for rain after Yorkshire's Vishwa Fernando (3-13) has them reeling on a dismal 65-6.

  6. Postpublished at 12:43 30 June

    Lancashire 49-1 v Notts

Josh Bohannon got his season going with 205 against Kent last week and he has got his score moving here with a couple of boundaries.

He goes after a wide one from Dane Paterson, but his second one is a touch fortunate as he is not in full control of a shot outside off from Olly Stone.

  7. Postpublished at 12:42 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 70-4

Short outside off from Kasey Aldridge and Ed Barnard slaps the ball through backward point for four.

Will Rhodes drops a short ball from Craig Overton into the off side for a single.

Ed Barnard opens the face of the bat at the last moment, guiding the ball safely wide of the slips for a couple.

This has been a promising partnership for the Bears since lossing four wickets this morning.

The ball is a little less responsive in the air and off the pitch.

    This is a key partnership.

Shot! Barnard drives Overton on the up through cover for four.

  8. Rain stops play in Chesterfieldpublished at 12:40 30 June

    Derbyshire 45-6 v Yorkshire

The players are off for rain in North Derbyshire and it will be a big relief to the home side.

Derbyshire are reeling at 45-6 after two wickets in two balls for Sri Lanka bowler Vishwa Fernando and a second wicket of the morning for Jordan Thompson.

Fernando has 3-13 and Thompson 2-18 on a great morning for Yorkshire.

  10. Postpublished at 12:35 30 June

    Durham 80-4 v Worcs

It's taken a comparatively pedestrian 16 balls but Ben Stokes has his first boundary.

It's not the most convincing shot he's ever played, edging Nathan Smith through the vacant gully region, but they all count.

Smith then gets one to nip back in and hit Stokes on the thigh.

The England captain is up to six off 19 balls.

Olli Robinson then hits Matthew Waite square to the deep backward point boundary and eases to 21.

  11. Postpublished at 12:35 30 June

    Lancashire 38-1 v Notts

A shot of real authority from Keaton Jennings.

Olly Stone bangs one in and Jennings stands up all and pulls it powerfully in front of square for four. The best shot of the morning in Southport.

  12. Early lunch at a drizzly Ovalpublished at 12:34 30 June

    Surrey 8-0 v Essex

The interval officially starts at 12:45 with a planned resumption at 13:25 if we have no more rain.

  13. Postpublished at 12:34 30 June

The last ball is full and pushed defensively into the off side by Will Rhodes.

  14. Play resumes in Southportpublished at 12:33 30 June

    Lancashire 34-1 v Notts

Welcome news in Southport where the players have returned after that brief interlude for rain.

Keaton Jennings tickles the first ball from Dane Paterson down to fine leg and jogs through for one.

And the next ball goes to the boundary for four leg byes as Paterson is down leg in bowling at Josh Bohannon.

  15. Change of ball at Tauntonpublished at 12:28 30 June

Migael Pretorius is off after a six-over spell that brought 3-12.

Craig Overton is on at the River End.

Or is he? No. He's not happy with the ball and the umpires are inspecting.

The ball is being changed after 20 overs.

  16. Tough goingpublished at 12:27 30 June

    Durham 70-4 v Worcs

Ollie Robinson drives Ben Allison through mid-on and runs three to bring Ben Stokes on strike for the final ball.

The England skip is beaten once again as Allison sends down a full ball which shapes away from the left-hander.

It is not easy out there - Durham will be keen for lunch. And not just for hunger purposes.

  17. Postpublished at 12:27 30 June

    Somerset v Warwickshire 56-4

Migael Pretorius almost cuts Ed Barnard in half as a leg side ball jags in and surprises the batter a little for bounce.

Safely pushed into the ground though.

Kasey Aldridge is into the attack and almost gets a caught and bowled chance first ball off Will Rhodes, but the ball is grounded before he can dive forward and collect it.

The fifth ball is full with a bit of width and Will Rhodes lashes it through cover for four.

  18. Postpublished at 12:24 30 June

Matthew Waites whistles one past Ben Stokes' outside edge.

It earns a smile and a nod from the England skipper.

The next ball is another beaut as Waite rips one past the edge.

    Another smile, another nod.

Maiden over. Stokes stays on one after 11 balls.

  19. Raining again at the Ovalpublished at 12:21 30 June

    Surrey 8-0 v Essex

Sorry, folks. That plan to resume at 12:20 has been washed away.
